This workshop series introduced students at Blackstone Valley Prep (BSVP) in Pawtucket RI to landscape architecture through a multi-day program.
Students were introduced to site observation through charcoal drawing.
Sensory mapping, and studies of light, shade, scale in a context they are familiar with. These exercises encouraged students to use their bodies and intuition to understand environmental conditions and translate them into visual form.
This workshop series culminated in collaborative collage work layered onto a shared site plan, where students reimagined the space and presented their ideas through a final group critique.
